A Taste of things to come.

Date Communiqué de Presse : 14 janvier 2010

Media Release 14th of January

Taste Tasman – The Tasman School and Community biannual festival is on Sunday 7th March 2010 at Tasman School. Building on previous Taste Tasman events, it promises to be a huge day with children’s activities, artists, stalls, food and stage entertainment.

Thanks to the generosity of Creative NZ, Mondo Travel Motueka, Pebble Bay, Talleys Group MORE FM and TDC, the team have been able to bring ex-Nelsonion, Sharon O’Neill, to Nelson for one performance only during a full days line up of entertainment.

Sharon is one of Nelson’s most successful artists & is a New Zealand Music Icon. Additionally to the performance. Sharon will also be part of a panel of experts hosting a Music Seminar on Wednesday 10th March at the Nelson School of Music. Representatives from APRA, Creative NZ and the NZ Music Industry Association will be in attendance. The seminar will impart knowledge to emerging artists about the music industry, and is a wonderful opportunity for songwriters and musicians to gain knowledge about everything from Song craft, to publishing and funding. This is a rare opportunity, both to see Sharon O’Neill perform live in Nelson for a small cost, and to hear music industry professionals speak.

You also have the opportunity to win a trip to Fiji, including airfares and accommodation, courtesy of Mondo Travel. Enter to win on the new Taste Tasman Website at www.tastetasman.co.nz and come to Taste Tasman to see the draw.

A new muddy adventure will start Taste Tasman. The Tasman Muddy Buddy is a mud packed adventure cross-country/estuary fun run for various abilities, 5-years old and up. In teams of two, you’ll have a most excellent muddy adventure that will leave you with a smile (and some mud) on your face.

Check out www.tastetasman.co.nz for updates and to download registration forms for Stall holders and for the music seminar. Bookings for the Sounds of Tasman Music Seminar are also available on via the Nelson School of Music Website. http://www.nsom.ac.nz/
